Flower House is a project of floral designer Lisa Waud. She bought the abandoned house in Detroit, Michigan for $250 and with the help of 36 fellow florists, replaced the garbage that were inside the house with 36,000 flowers. It took a year to complete the project. It will serve as an exhibition for the october installation weekend, and after that the house will be deconstructed and its materials repurposed. The ground will be turned into a flower farm and design center. As stated in the project’s website, their mission was not only to share the love of art but also to pursue a passion for sustainability and responsibility to american-grown flower farms.
