50 bilion plastic bottles are thrown away each year and only one-fourth of this vast number is being recycled. Not to mention CO2 emissions and extreme inefficiency of bottle water transportation. Designers Armin and Richard from Bu Products have a solution to this problem – a premium designed reusable water bottle. Its simple design and smart filter lets you to carry your water wherever you go and not to harm the planet.
In order to filter the water in a sustainable way, designers used a traditional Japanese method that converts the bamboo into an activated charcoal. In this process, millions of tiny bamboo pores are opened and a surface of activated charcoal with countless bonding sites is created. Bad chemicals like chlorine are absorbed by these pores while releasing minerals such as magnesium back into the water. Used filter can be simply composted into the garden.
