A 100 year old barn from New Hampshire comes back to life as contemporary house in California. It’s built by Studio Carver, which is full service architecture firm specializing in site-specific building design, green, LEED certified sustainable architecture, historic preservation restoration and remodeling. Their mission statement is so close with us: “We are dedicated to creating projects which fully integrate the needs of our clients with the nature of their sites.”
This reclaimed 100 year old 2000 square foot, heavy timber barn was given a new life as a guest house for the client’s many children and grandchildren. Reassembled among the oaks on a ranch in Santa Ynez, it was clad with translucent Kalwall panels which express the structure at night and flood the interior space with free, soft light during the day.↓ Hi, gorgeous kitchen! Can you tell me where you got the table?↓ A special place to swing before the sun. ↓ Sneaky bedroom with doors of the castle.↓ Luxurious bathroom, perfect rust.
