Just think about all of the broken stuff that we throw out every year. Instead of fixing or recycling it, we buy some new stuff. Design studio ‘KaCaMa Design Lab‘ from Hong Kong wanted to make something from broken and old stuff – they designed a stool made from discarded fans and scrap wire. The materials were taken from St James Settlement recycling center. Designers removed the plastic outer shell of old copper wires and wove it through the fan covers to create colorful stool designs. The plastic wire covers not only brings a decorative element to design, but also provides a bit of cushion to the metal frame. Besides from promoting recycling, designers also wanted to emphasize the craftsmanship by sewing every seat by hands. And they really did – they got our attention for sure! Hope it’ll get yours too, take a look at these awesome stools.
