NOEM is a young, Barcelona-based design-build firm that creates and constructs ecological, conceptual and intuitive homes based on locally sourced natural materials that has minimised and controlled CO2emissions at every step of the process.
I picked the brainchild of NOEM called The Eco-House 3.0 located in Castellón de la Plana, Spain, which combines state of the art technologies and simple, but cozy design.
The house is made almost entirely via computerized process and all the equipment is interconnected via internet. Thus the main tool to take the of the house is the owner‘s smartphone. The lights can be synchronized with the schedule on a smartphone or programmed to wake us up or greet us when we get home via GPS or detectors. The HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) system adapts to the weather forecast, the irrigation system operates according to soil moisture and rain forecast, and mechanical ventilation activates when the concentration of C02 is high.
It‘s pretty incredible it was built in just over 9 weeks!
